We aim to reduce poverty and inequalities in Calderdale while challenging mental health stigmatization within the Black community, refugees, and asylum seekers.

Our approach involves ministering, educating, and actively advocating for societal adjustments to meet the needs and well-being of our members in Calderdale.

Additionally, we care about the environment and climate change. Our actions focus on improving household waste management in Calderdale. We inform and educate the community about the efficient and environmentally friendly use of household appliances. We also help our members make informed choices about sustainably produced local commodities to reduce carbon emissions in Calderdale.

Spotlight CIO is dedicated to achieving these goals within the Calderdale region:

- Promoting social inclusion for refugees and asylum seekers who experience social exclusion due to their economic and social circumstances.

- Creating a local network group to encourage and facilitate greater integration of refugees and asylum seekers into the wider community.

- Providing information, advocacy, and general support to our members.

- Increasing opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers to engage with public and private service providers, enabling better adaptation to meet community needs.

- Achieving English language proficiency and vocational skills through education and training.

- Improving access to social and recreational facilities and community events by encouraging participation in activities such as football matches, music classes, and cultural events in Calderdale.
